Who Am I?

👋 Hi, I’m Colin Toews

For over 30 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving the Church — both in volunteer roles and on staff — in everything from worship leading and preaching to building websites and running livestreams. My heart has always been to support the mission of the Church in practical ways, especially when resources and staff are stretched thin.

I’ve seen just how much effort pastors pour into their weekly sermons — and how quickly those messages can fade from memory after Sunday morning. That’s what inspired me to start Small Church Big Impact. I want to help churches, particularly smaller churches, to do more in spite of their often limited resources. To begin with I have created a service designed to help churches extend the life and reach of each week’s message through custom daily devotionals and small group guides.

With a background in video production, web design, and communications, I’ve spent more than 3o years learning how to craft content that tells meaningful stories and build engagement — including ten years as Director of Communications for a large church in British Columbia, Canada. Today, I want to use that experience to support churches from around the world.

I currently live in Penang, Malaysia, where my wife teaches at Dalat International School and I serve in a small local church. My goal isn’t just to use this service to make money, but to use this to fund more work here in the region.
